I'm really excited to be launching The Marketing Club in Malvern on the 18th July!
Response has been really good, and I'm looking forward to building a workshop format that works on things that are current and challenging for the businesses who join us. I'll be sharing my knowledge on each of the subjects we'll be focussing on, and then helping the attending businesses to work on how it applies to them in a guided workshop session. There is great potential to learn from one another, get feedback and a bit of objective insight into what you are thinking about your own business. This can be so valuable if you are working for yourself, or in a small team. I'm delighted that the Malvern District Council has generously supported the first workshop session by providing the venue and sharing details in the local Malvern Hills business e-bulletin, and I'll be hoping to choose a local venue that showcases local business for each monthly meet up. AllAboutMalvernHills has also been really supportive and we're in their July newsletter too. There's been interest beyond Malvern in Worcester and neighbouring towns, so I'll be looking to evaluate starting more local groups where there is demand for it. There is room for a friendly workshop environment where you can just be who you are and have no pressure to know everything, or network unless you want to. As I am a generalist, my approach is to look at how marketing strategy uses all the tools available to best effect for a business. I'm looking forward to the challenge of focussing on very specific areas to deepen the business owner's knowledge and understanding, and support in working up their own strategies. We'll be starting with 'Making sense of social media'. Everyone wants to know about this magic stuff to get more business, but what about it really makes sense for your business, and how do you keep up with it all? Monthly marketing workshops Our monthly sessions will focus on key subjects that can really make a difference to how you market your small business, including 'The Ideal Customer'; 'Hard working website'; Easy email marketing'; 'Make a Brand'; and 'How to brief a designer'. I'll be adding additional workshops for more in depth work (like each of the social media types: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) as the businesses attending request them. As this really is about supporting small businesses, at any stage of marketing development, beginners and startups are welcome. Are you local to Worcestershire?
