Marketing lesson blog competition

June 16, 2011 by Bronwyn Durand Leave a Comment

JupiterJasper is proud to announce a blog competition.

Topic: My biggest lesson in marketing (so far) Criteria for entry:
  • Open to anyone involved in marketing a small business or organisation (under 100 employees) as an owner/ partner/ marketer employed by that business (no marketing/ advertising/ design agencies please, unless you are talking about marketing your own business) - one entry per organisation.
  • Blog must be published on or before the 8 July on your own site/blog.
  • You must notify us of the URL by sending an email to the email address in the ‘how it will work’ section below.
  • If you tweet, please tweet your URL and include @bronwyndurand in the tweet so I know that you have and can RT it (once) if your blog qualifies as per these criteria. We won’t tell you if you don’t qualify except by not RTing your tweet. Blogs that are entered will receive a thank you email in response to their email.
  • If you Facebook, then look out for any links to your URL on JupiterJasper's Facebook page (you'll need to 'like' the page to do so)
  • Your blog must end with a single sentence that describes what your business does and who for. No more than 20 words, please, or risk disqualification.
  • You can make your own blog title to keep with the spirit of your own blog, but the content must answer the topic - ‘my biggest lesson in marketing so far’.
  • Anyone using the opportunity for blatant marketing without following the judging criteria outlined in section below will be disqualified.
  • We are family friendly, so swearing is a no-no, and use common sense in keeping in the spirit of the subject area, please.
  • Blog must please state 'This is an entry into the JupiterJasper Marketing lesson blogging competition' with a link to this post (http://bit.ly/lpyv7p).
How the competition will work: Post your blog on your own site/blog before or on the 8 July 2011, Send an email to: marketinglessoncompetition@jupiterjasper.com with your contact details and the URL (if your blog is anonymous, please let us know and we will preserve your privacy, contact details are required in case you win), Favourite entries will be replicated on the JupiterJasper blog, (be aware that titles may be changed), Special mention entries will be given mention in a special Marketing Ideaology blog with links to the respective blog posts, The winner will be announced on the 18th July. Prize: 1 Hour JupiterJasper marketing consultation over the phone for your business Laptop stand Pocket sized moleskin notebook for marketing ideas (only:)) (PS happy to accept international entries, but if you win, you'll need to pay for postage) Judging guidelines: Usefulness of the information (something other businesses can apply or learn from); Entertainment value; Great writing (the less editing required, the better); Special points for subtly marketing your own business without being overt (with the exception of the last line which must market your business as per criteria above) ; Special points for getting quality comments on your blog about your post; Special points for getting lots of RT's especially if I can track them (hint: @bronwyndurand) Good luck!
