Date: 11 August 2017, 10:00 - 16:30
Level: For artists with a body of work, and some experience of putting their work out there to attract buyers. You may have collected some email addresses and may or may not have sent some emails to your list. You could be more advanced in having an email service provider (like Mailchimp), but want to send better emails that lead to more art sales.
Do any of these ring true for you? Then this course is ideal:
- I'm emailing my list through my main email (Macmail, Outlook etc)
- I give out business cards or postcards, but don't collect emails regularly at shows I attend
- I don't have a clear plan behind what I'm putting in my emails, and deciding when and what to email is hard
- I'm not sure who is reading my emails
- I'm not sure how best to stay in touch with buyers of my work, or people who have expressed an interest, but not bought yet
What you'll learn
How email is still the most effective (in cost, time and convenience) type of marketing to keep you in touch with potential buyers or contacts interested in your work, deepening your potential relationship over time.
During the day, we'll cover
- What goes into a great regular email to an email list
- Developing ideas around what to put in your emails
- Why email is so effective at building relationships for artists that lead to art sales and opportunities
- Guidance on setting up an effective way of emailing regularly, that allows you to see how it is working
What to bring
- Your name, login and password information for any current email service provider (like Mailchimp, for example)
- Your wi-fi enabled laptop (preferable to a tablet)
- Examples of emails you have sent to your list previously (if you have been emailing)
- A few sample emails for your email list (fine if these are on a notebook, or database, anything is welcome) - note, these must be in agreement to receive email from you (fine if they are a past or current customer)
- Pen and paper for your own notes
What's included
- Reference notes to take home
- Refreshments, delicious buffet lunch and afternoon tea
- A community Facebook group for you and other Art of Marketing students to keep in touch about your progress
