Date: 10 August 2017, 10:00 - 16:30
Level: For established artists or makers with a website or active social media profile(s) and some experience of marketing their work. You want the time you spend on marketing to make a difference.
Do any of these ring true for you? Then this course is ideal:
- Is anyone actually interested in anything I post on social media or blog? It's hard deciding what to post
- I don't post updates as often as I suspect I should as it is a huge time suck when I feel I should be creating
- I'm not convinced that anything I'm doing is working to justify the time
- I can't keep up with all of the social media platforms, website and other marketing that I 'should' be doing
What you'll learn
How social media, blogging, the web and non digital marketing can become part of your artistic process to achieve sales, awareness, connect with others and build communities of fans.
During the day, we'll cover
- The key ingredients in deciding what marketing to spend your time and money on, whether social media, web-related or in the non digital world
- How other artists are using these tools to market themselves
- Developing a purpose that is meaningful for you and audience (and potential customers!) for these marketing channels
- A framework for focusing on what will be right for you to spend your time on, and how to know if it's working
What to bring
- Your name, login and password information for any social media profiles (this is to aid examples, where relevant).
- Your wi-fi enabled laptop (preferable to a tablet) - this is more for bringing up examples for yourself, or trying tips in session.
- Pen and paper for your own notes.
What's included
- Reference notes to take home
- Refreshments, delicious buffet lunch and afternoon tea
- A community Facebook group for you and other Art of Marketing students to keep in touch about your progress
