Level: For an artist or maker seeking a descriptive expression of themselves and their work that is exciting and accurate without limiting them, to enable them to stand out and to make marketing themselves easier.
Do any of these ring true for you? Then this course is ideal:
- Do you find it tricky to create a personal statement or summary of yourself and work that really represents you?
- Do you want to stand out, but feel there's a lot of talented competition out there?
- Do you want to be more professional in how you present yourself and work?
- Are you keen to express your vision?
- Have you been thinking about how to develop your personal brand as an artist?
What you'll learn
This fun mood board exploration will help you to clarify what you are ‘selling’ and to ‘who’ and narrow in on the ‘why’ that can be used to express your particular unique brand, as an artist. Having a clear 'why' really helps to make marketing yourself easier and helps you showcase what makes you different.
During the day, we'll cover
- What your buyers are interested in
- Creating a mood board of visual and language elements to build a definition of your brand as an artist
- Develop a description that includes what is important to you and your possible buyers
- A framework for different ways to use this description
What to bring
- A preparation suggestion note will be sent to signed up students to encourage some thinking before the course, or add personal touches to the mood board
- Pen and paper for your own notes.
What's included
- Reference notes to take home
- A board to create the mood board, and some elements
- Refreshments, delicious buffet lunch and afternoon tea
- A community Facebook group for you and other Art of Marketing students to keep in touch about your progress
